4 Click Downloads. It's in the left-hand sidebar. This is the default location in which you save your downloaded files from the Internet. - If the Forge Installer file was saved to a different place than the default, you can use the Finder to go back to the original location.

5 Double-click the forge-installer folder. The file name says "forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2768-installer" or something similar depending on what version you download. If the warning says that the file cannot be installed due to it being created by an unknown developer, click on the Apple icon in the upper-left corner. Next, click System Preferences. Click on the System & Security icon, then click Open Anyway under "General". Enter your user password. Then close the file.

6 Select "Install Client" and then click Next. Click Next to make sure that the Radial Button, next to "Install Client", is selected. This installs Minecraft Forge. Once the installation is finished, you will see an announcement that informs you that it was successful.

12 Click on the mods folder. It's located in the Minecraft install folder. This is the folder you put all your mods into. - If the folder "mods" is not there you can click File in the menu bar at the top and then click New Folder. Change the name of the folder "mods" to a lower-case "m".
